Dr Shrestha is one of the longest serving senior psychiatrists of Nepal. He is currently involved with Nepal medical College, Kathmandu, Blue Cross Hospital, Tripureswar, Kathmandu and Maryknoll Nepal, Asha Deep Residential Facility at Sundarijal, Kathmandu.
Dr Shrestha initiated Methadone substitution program, 1st of its kind in South East Asia, in 1994.
